Hey I have a 1990 Bayliner outboard w/ 120hp force engine and I wanted to know if winterizing my own boat myself is easy? I took to shop last year and it cost me $192 and only $44 in parts and rest in labor.

Also what do I need?
stabilizer
fog oil
gear oil

...anything else?

I saw this cheap little package http://www.iboats.com/CRC-Engine-Wi...0+Cool+Comfort+Sales+Alert-_-Banner-_-CRC+Kit but id be willing to spend more if there is a better option.

Re: Winterizing Boat

Lower unit oil is a necessary item to outboards regardless of the weather and is considered to be an annual item.

Marine gear oil (lower unit oil) is available from most any parts store. I did not see gear oil on the list of items in the link

I would strongly suggest investing in a manual for the motor which will lay out the proper maintenance schedule and list storage items.

Any place in particular to get a manual? I have a 88 Chaparral with a 3.0 Merc i/o. Thanks
