Hi guy's,

I checked the search option and didn't see anything really pertaining to my Yamaha F150 question, so please forgive me if this has already been asked.

My Dad and put the boat up today for the winter and ran through all the Yamaha procedures according to the manual. Everything was very straight forward and went without issues. That being said, my Dad insisted that we run anti freeze through the motor as well. I understand it isn't necessary, but he tends to be a worry wart sometimes, but nevertheless, no harm in doing so. Anyway, while on the jug I wasn't able to get a stream out of the telltale, but I was getting anti freeze from the hub. I'm assuming since I was getting good flow from the hub that the anti freeze made it's way through out the power head?

I ran the motor on the garden hose for ten minutes prior to warm everything up and had no issue with the telltale. So I'm assuming that gravity just wasn't producing pressure while attached to the jug.

Any insight would be appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is the possible damage the solution could cause to the impeller and any rubber parts.

The solution isn't a concern, it's marine grade. In a round about way I was asking if the anti freeze is coming through the exhaust is it circulating through the power head; even though it isn't coming out of the telltale?

You are probably right not enough water flow as there is no pressure to help push.

Some motors require the power head to fill up with water before much will come out of tell tail, so maybe it did not reach every thing.
How long did you run it on the jug?

I ran it for a good 30 seconds or so. Long enough to go through 3/4 of a 5 gal. jug. Temp light never came on and the power head was only warm to the touch. I had a good flow through the exhaust though.

These kits need to come with some sort of plunger attachment to provide additional pressure aside from gravity. I've witnessed a lot of people, especially the I/O guys, who have had issues getting good circulation.
