Winterizing-HOW MUCH ANTIFREEZE?

I am wintering my Mercruiser 3.0 this year and was curious to know how much anti-freeze I should buy to winterize properly?

I plan to follow Don's winterize sticky post.

How many gallons will do it?

About 3 should do it.2 for the block, 1 for the manifold.

Sounds about right, my v-8 drains exactly 4-1/2 gals between the block and manifiolds. I just drain the water, block and manifolds have survived many Ohio winters.

Actually... I did 4 3 liters last week. You'll use a little under 2 gallons. Make sure you buy the -100F stuff.

my 4.3 took a lil under 2 gallons in the block through the thermostat housing.

I drain excatly 4-1/2 gals of lakewater from the heds and manifolds each year.
