i'm in a ****ty situation where i need to winterize my boat but currently the outdrive is off. i need to install a new gimbal bearing. unfortunetely im completely tied up with work ( i drive a truck cross country) and just dont have the time to fix the gimbal bearing and i wanted to do new bellows too before i put it back together.

is there anyway to winterize the engine for these cold couple nights coming up until i have enough time to properly winterize it. i know i can fog the motor but how about getting all the water out of it. will pulling the drain plugs get it all out?

I have never used antifreeze when winterizing my engines. Pull all of the appropriate plugs and hoses, and make sure there is no sand or rust trapping any water inside, and you will be fine.

Drain as needed and add antifreeze through the hoses and thermostat housing as explained in your service manual.
Basically, there is no reason you NEED antifreeze, air doesn't freeze.

Yup, same here drain manifolds and motor leave plugs out. Run piece of wire to make sure junk not blocking holes. Temp gets into the teens here have not had a problem doing it this way.
