Re: winterizing?

Add sta-bil, fog per instructions on the can, store upright so all the water is drained out.
There are 2 different thoughts on running it out of gas or not, for me its no.

Your manual will have the winterizing needed for your engine type.

The absolute, no-fail, best way to winterize a boat is to move to Florida.

I'm telling 'ya, it worked very well for me:D

Back the and trailer boat into its resting spot, tilt the engine vertical so all water drains, disconnect the battery, and go inside the house to watch football. Oh yeah---Cover the boat with a heavy duty tarp supported by some sort of frame if it is to be left outside.

Re: winterizing?

To be honest I've never done anything to winterize mine other than changing the lower unit oil just in case any water got in there during the season. Running Stabil in your last tank of gas is a sound idea.

I think you'll find just as many people who argue for both answers to
that question. I still, after all these years, haven't figured out who's
right.

Most of the "only way to do it" work just fine.

For many years all I did was put stabil in the tank and run the carb(s) dry. All of the gurus will tell you that is a bad way to do it, but it worked for me.

Put stabil in the gas.Run it and make sure it's in the carbs/injectors.Then fog it.Don't run it out of gas. Some do I don't.
Run it in fresh water to fog.Salt water will leave big clumps of salt.
Leave it in an upright position so it drains.Change the oil in the lower.
Unhook the batteries and put them in the garage on a piece of wood.J
