Hey, I'm new to outboard motors. I have a '88/89 75HP Mariner Oil Injected that I need to winterize. I live in TN. I topped off the fuel tank and added Sta-bil, ran the motor and ran the fogging oil, ran a couple gallons of Marine Anti-freeze. Where is the drain for the block? What else do I need to do ? Do i need to drain & replace the lower unit oil ? Thanx for any help.

Re: Winterizing

No drain on block. the motor is self draining. drain and refill lower end lube, with NEW washers on both drain and vent screws.
Good to go. Keep motor in the down position.

Terry, The OB is self draining, so the antifreeze is not necessary. Just make sure to leave the motor in the running position so it can drain properly.

Thank you, Sir........Do you need anything special to add the new lube?

Re: Winterizing

Buy the the pump that attaches to a quart bottle of lowerend lube. it will screw into the drain plug. Less mess.

Terry thanks for your service in the Navy. If you worked on Fighter Jets, outboards should be a walk in the park for you.???
