I have a wiper switch that is wired and lights up when switched on but no wipers on my boat. It was never equipped with wipers, so why the switch

the dash is probably a standard assembly bought by the boat company. most boat companies buy the dash, gauges, switches and wiring all as a package from a gauge supplier

the addition of a wiper may have been an option by what ever boat company you have a boat from.

attach the switch to an electric fuse attached to some firecrackers. Hide them under a bag and tell your friend to go turn the wiper on.

That's an irresponsible statement. Hope you never own a boat.

(OK I spoke too quick. If you are 12 years old maybe you should get a pass if your parents promise to discipline you)

Jim - Rat didn't like your response to his stupid post and says it was a joke. Hardy har har.

Mister Rat - The OP may think it was a funny joke or he may take that a serious suggestion. Bleach & Lysol.

Excuse me - Master Rat. You aren't old enough to be addressed as Mister;

I live in Wisconsin and I have a boat but not a car! I am 13 years old, own my own boat (12' mirr, the one in my photo), currently own two Evinrude, a 3HP 1966(for sale), and a 6HP 1971(in use). I do all the maintenance myself and recently mounted a fishfinder. We tow it with a toyota prius. Buget boating at its best!
