i have 1969 johnson 85hp and i dont know were the brun wire and purple wire come from they engine goes the engine start ok but im not thos wire are they for the choke???

Hi, sylvain36<br /><br />I may not have this right, as I'm really not that familiar with your motor, but I'm sure others will know. The purple wire on newer motors is the hot lead from the ignition at the engine. The brown or tan wire may be for a temp sensor. Where does the brown hook up at the engine? Where does the purple hook up at the engine or are you talking about the wires are coming from the remote control to the engin? Your post is kinda confusing. Can you clarify it a bit better?

no there are purple wire comme from remote controle goes were is the key swiche wire and the brown one come from the engine there ave something whit springjsut in the side of the carburator

ok there is the wire im lookin purple w/strip green come frome inside they engine they other one is purple w/stripe white come from the litle the side of the carburator with spring they other one is brown is plug with the power pact wiring help me

on my 150 the brown wire is for the temp sensor coming out of the power pack, i'm not sure about the purple one
