Hey Iboats!

I'm working on my electrical system, I have a 91 lund Pro V...it has an old two wire outlet for the trolling motor. The new one has four wires.

Do I need to run two new wires to make the system work or are they only for a 12 volt option?

If there is a wiring diagram already up let me know, I couldn't find it.

I'd add the pictures but this site hates me.........

If your trolling motor is strictly 24 volts, you only need two wires.

Thanks!

Ill have to shop around and determine if I should get a 12volt/24volt or straight 24 volt trolling motor.

Good luck on finding a "new" 12/24 motor. That was a novel idea in the good old days but not necessary. Today motors up to about 55# are 12 volt only. Anything over that up to 80# are 24 volt and over that are 36 volt. What you need depends on how big you Pro-V is. 55# will handle a tin boat up to about 17 feet. If you routinely fish in very windy conditions or if you must fight high river currents you will need more power. Over 17 feet you need more muscle.
