wire size for charging a trolling motor battery

have a starcraft ss and was going to place the bow mount trolling motor battery under the front bow seat.(right on center) was going to use a quick dis-connect to connect battery to trolling motor.probably 6 or 8 wire size.do you think i can use the same dis-connect to charge the battery?this way i don't have to remove the cushion and plywood to get at the battery.

You don't mention the amperage output of your charger, but in general, Yes, you can do that as long as your charger output in amps doesn't exceed the wiring size on the boat there shouldn't be a problem.

thanks; Don for the input. the charger is only a 10 amp. charger.it only charges about 6 amps. on a low battery

!4 gauge is good for 15 amps.

If the wire is large enough gauge to run the trolling motor then it will be large enough to charge it at 6amps.
