in the market for a bow mount t/m since i just bought this skiff and it didnt have one on it, got looking at the wireles motor guides (price was cheaper) and saw a few threads here and there about the gears in the head stripping out on both models motor guide and minnkota, is this something common in the wireless trolling motors, if so should i just get a tiller handle and not worry?

Re: wireless trolling motor question

I guess it all depends on how you will use it,....

My fishing partner just ordered a Motorguide xi5 so he can have it tied to the Lowrance gps so he can program trolling runs and let the bow-mount do the work,............

I like the old school way of running a boat when trolling and prefer a cable steer bow-mount because I think it gives me more control for the way I like to fish,...

No real right or wrong answer,......

Just depends on how you want to use it,.........
