wires coming out from flywheel

I have a 20 hp sea king old a 1970 model its has no starter but has two wires coming out from the fly wheel or they for the starter or charging ? can i hook them up to my battery so i can charge my battery for lights at night ? here is a pic some one please help!!! and happy boating and fishing

Those wires short the points together and stop the engine. They would normally be attached to a push button switch on the front of the engine. If you touch them together or either one to ground, the engine will stop. Eother buy a switch or tape the ends. If you set the idle low enough, the engine will stall anyway, or you can choke it to stop
