So I have a 4 channel receiver split and wired to two (2) four channel amps making 8 outputs. I have 8 speakers in the boat (all full range) four are on the wake tower, two are under the back seats and two are under the dashboard in front, left and right. Now first I split the amps so when using the front and rear fade, it instead, goes wakeboard tower to lower boat. Now the thing I am struggling with is Left and Right. As to the 4 on the tower, should I wire them two on the left and two on the right of the tower or 1,2,3,4 L, R L,R? As to the bottom or main part of the boat should I wire them Left, Right or front being Left and rear being Right. I ask this because I am not sure which way will sound better as music plays. Has anyone done this or has anyone got any suggestions? It is not that I am tone deaf I just want to have the best range and separation to get the best sound I can.

:welcome: aboard cfalco. Great to have a new iboat member...

Personally, I would always wire any set of speakers in the typical left/right fashion. Meaning the front area has two speakers, I would wire the left side as the left and the right side as the right because then you receive the stereo effect regardless where you listen to the music from. The fader from front to rear being set to wake tower and helm is a good idea. But just wire every set of speakers in the typical fashion of left and right if you truly want the stereo effect. If you wires the two from speakers as left and the two rear speakers as right, you will not receive the stereo effect but only somewhere standing in the middle of the setup. JMHO

Welcome aboard.

Let's say you are standing in middle of the cockpit listening to the old stereo demo tape of the train blowing it's horn while rumbling down the track toward and away from the microphones.

How do you think it will sound with the cross-wired speakers? Cross-wiring will make a darn good mono sound system.

I would wire right to right and left to left.
