Wiring apapter?

I want to use my 1984 150hp Merc Controls with a 2004 200hp Merc. The throttle and shifter look fine, but I believe I'll need at least an adapter for the electrical plug in at the engine - anyone know?

Mercury dealers have a variety of adapter harness available to them that will adapt many different engines and harnesses. I did not seem to be able to find them online any where.

Your other choice is to get a boat wiring harness for that motor and splice it to your current wiring haness. All the functions of the wires are the same, but the color of the wires may be a bit different. The best thing is to get a wiring diagram for each motor and make an interconnect diagram.
