wiring diagram & year of motor

i have a 85 hp mercury ob motor with wire's un-hooked and cut inside the motor and to the control's.it has a power trim also.is there a book i can get to show how to connect everything back up correctly ? the motor is on a procraft 1500 (1976)the serial number on the motor is 4594659. i also don't know the year of the motor thank's

Looks like a 1977.<br /><br />You can get the wiring diags in the Clymer and Seloc manuals, but there is an Iboats member who has helped out before. I think it's Schematic.<br />But if you are stuck, email me andrewkafp@yahoo.com.au and I can scan and upload.

thank's for the info unicorn. i'll get one of those book's.the previous owner had really cobbled this one together, using anything from house wiring to extension cord's,and not color coding any of them. phil
