Wiring faria hour meter

is there any reason why I shouldn’t power my hour meter from the blue power to my speedometer light? I Believe it’s always on when the motor is running.

No, blue is lights and only on when you turn the lights on. Purple is ignition and what your hour meter should be wired to

Could add if the Blue speed-o Blue wire is powered by the purple wire, then your good

I’ll have to check to see if the blue wire is taped into a purple wire. My instrument lights are on regardless of my nav lights, or any other for that matter.

That's basically how mine is wired, I installed a one amp fuse just to be safe.

Yep, it looks like there are a bunch of blue wires taped into a purple one.
