Wiring Plug Question

I just bought a new wiring harness for my Dad's boat (a 1986 Sportcraft with a 3 liter Mercruiser I/O). My question pertains to the main engine 9 pin plug at the back - where the main wiring harness plugs in. Is it advisable to put some dielectric grease on the pins before plugging it in, or should it be dry? What do the experts recommend?

I am no expert and not aware of the "official position", but I use dielectric grease on my cannon plug.

Use it, the peace of mind is worth as much as the corrosion protection.
