Wiring VHF through stereo speakers?

I would like to have my VHF radio go through the stereo speakers. Is it as simple as splicing in the VHF speaker wires into the stereo speaker wires? Will the VHF feed back though the stereo speakers and blow the stereo?

Blowing the stereo from the VHF means the opposite is also true -- the stereo can blow the VHF. You have a one channel VHF output and either two or four totally separate stereo ouputs. How would you plan to connect this anyway? Impedance would be so screwed up neither the radio or VHF would work right and since you would likely have them both on at the same time the outputs would be competing with each other. This is not an acceptable plan -- period. You need a separate speaker for the VHF.

Check the back of the VHF for a RCA output or a headphone output. It may have a black rubber plug covering it. You can get external speakers designed strictly for the radio.
