I bought this old Wizard, Model#WG4 SN#722790. I dont know what year or HP. This motor is in very good shape except is has a cracked block. I am very intrested in trying to find a block or power head for it. It is to nice of motor to part out. Anyone with information on the year,HP or a parts source, I would like to hear from you. Thanks, Jim

Hi Jim -- Your motor is a 6hp, made between 1951 and 1954. It's the equivalent (at least a close cousin) of the Mercury KD4. [Source is Peter Hunn's Old Outboard Book.]

You may come up with a powerhead/parts motor -- might try posting a note on the Antique Outboard Club (AOMCI) site.

Good luck.

Try a post at the Wizard Outboards Site at:
www.pfs-ware/kwast/wizard or JohnsOld Mercury
Web Site at: www.pfs-ware.com There is a link to
Wizard from Johns too.
They should be able to tell you which merc. power head will fit and any changes you might have to make.
