Woman is no boat mechanic! help please.

can someone tell me, i've looked all over this web site for the answer. I drained the oil from my boat, the lower unit part. It's a 1988 140 IO merc. I put 50:1 two cycle outboard motor oil in it. It was blue? is this the right kind?

Well at least to be safe I would drain and blow as much out as possible..
