wondering what motor i could put in my fling

I have a 1994 four winns fling. I just bought it. there is no motor but the jet drive is there. I was wondering if any one knew if i could take a old omc outboard and put the powerhead in my boat. If any one knows anything about this like what yearmotor i could use if this indeed would work it would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to get this boat on the water soon and i dont have much money so i was looking for a cheap way to get my boat in the water. Thanks jake

I would bet it had the Mercury Sport Jet 90 in it. Hard to say without seeing what's in there, but to answer your question, probably not. Just setting an old outboard powerhead on any jet drive is not going to work. It's all designed to work together. The Merc SJ used a Force powerhead.

I thank you for your help i was wondring that because i have read on other web sites of people puting v6 in the boats. The pump sayes mine had a 115 in it.
