I have a 1988 Johnson 150, the engine won't start after having it tilted all the way up, and spending time ashore. I make sure the bulb is firm, several times, but no luck. You have to wait 30 to 60 minutes after it is lowered before it will start? The compression is alittle low, but pretty equal. It turns over, can't tell if it is no gas, flooded, ?

Re: won't start

Most likely your carb floats are sticking. You can try draining the float bowls and cleaning with carb cleaner, but it's probably time to rebuild your carbs.

BW....just a little to add to ezeke's advice. Take a spary bottle with pre mix in it. Next time you settle down and are ready to restart, shoot some pre mix down the carb throats. If she takes off, you have a fuel flow problem.

Have you looked at the fuel lines and made sure they all are plyable and ain't lost their grip?

How low is low on the compression?
