Won't stay running!

I have a 97 Glastron SE-195 w/5.8l. The engine cranks and starts but wont stay running in the run position. I tried a new ignition switch but still the same. Have looked online for wiring schematic but no help yet. Any ideas?

What's the full model number or serial number of your engine. Doesn't really matter what boat it is and Volvo didn't use the 5.8 in 97.

Ayuh,.... I found this in the electronics forum, 'n didn't know if it's a Volvo, or OMC,...

Guess I guessed wrong maybe...

Probably a 96 engine not 97. Volvo did use Fords in 96. With a full model or SN we will know for sure.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm helping a friend. He says it's a 5.9L Ford with a Volvo out drive

Is that a Volvo engine as well? They didn't make a 5.9L. If you meant 5.8L Ford, then there are about 17 versions of that engine that it could be. What are the letters after "5.8F" in the serial number?

Sorry again for the mis-info....My buddie will send me the serial number of engine....I believe IT IS a 5.8L Ford....Will be back with the correct info later....Thanks for your help and patience so far....
