Wont stay running!!!!

I have an 1986 evinrude 30 hp. It is hard to start. When it start it will warm up but wont Idle. Could this be becuase I just hooked up the controls.. Also Where is the start position on the warm up lever??? Thanks....

Dan<br />"Edit" your post and give the modle number, that will help those how are here to help! Is the primer bulb hard? If you pump the bulb, will it stay running? Have you cleaned the carb/s? Changed the filter? Tank vent (on cap)(if it has one)(vent that is) open?<br />Richard
