We used pressure treated on out old Riviera back about 16 years ago. Lasted for as long as we needed. Sold the place with the 'toon 8 years later and it was still fine. Opinions will vary.

Check the compatibility with your metal or simply put a good coat a paint or a membrane between PT and metal.I did my transom circa 1982.Unsealed,un painted. Boat was in the water april to december most years outside year round.Transom is still fine. If your going to paint you'll need to let it dry before painting.

Welcome to iboats!! :)

The "old" PT was okay just poisonous and got along with aluminum.........

The "new" PT contains copper and IS NOT aluminum friendly......

Good quality exterior plywood sealed up with resin (epoxy or polyester) will outlast your needs. Take a peek into the restoration section.

Re: Wood for re-decking?

I re-built my '85 Lowe in 2001 and bought plywood from Lowe ($50.00 a sheet) it was PT. However it was the worst quality wood I have ever seen. I sold the boat a few years later so I can not give a report on it. If I was to do it again I would buy a "GOOD" A/C not P/T and seal it. If you are going to place carpet polyester resin would be fine, if you are wanting to use a non- skid paintable coating then place 2 layers of cloth with epoxy or 2 layers of mat with polyester resin. Reason is the ply , even if sealed, will check and the checks will reflect up through the paintable coating. Good Luck
