Don you have been great help so maybe you can answer a couple of questions for me . I want to get a workshop manual for my 1999 Volvo sx-m drive . I believe the manual number is 7743008. Is that correct? Also if that is the manual I was looking at it says nothing about having to have the shift in forward or reverse to pull or install the drive. Do you know whenther that is needed/

Yes, that is the correct manual. You can download it for free here.

You don't need to shift to forward, that is for Mercs Alpha style drives only.
