Local Mech is having "flashbacks" to the old cross-flow days/daze!! Look at you owner's manual or the nice factory service manual you bought!!! Loopers "generally" run 5 to 6K. I don't have the exact # memorized and neither does anyone else here!! So I won't make up a number that isn't correct!!!!!!

I have a 14-3/4 x 19 prop. I need to go down to a 17 pitch to raise rpms. Do i stick with the same diameter??

Yes, or something close to it. Sometimes the same diameter isn't available.

19p to 17p should give you 300-400 more rpm
