Hello, I just broke in my 150 4 strokes and was wondering what the wide open throddle should be. I tried it this weekend and hit 6000 rpms. Does that sound right?

Hi,
Read in the Owner's Manual page 40. You are at the upper end of WOT RPM range.
Todd i also have a new f150. I just finished break-in but was only able to get to 5000 rpms at wot. I have a 19 pitch prop on a 21 ft triumph. What boat and what pitch prop are you using. Thanks Rivercat

Hey Bo,Thanks for the info on motor , that a sweet cut sheet. Rivercat49 I have a 25 foot Parker with twin 150 4 strokes 17"black stainless props hit 47 mph.. when I was breaking the motors in, I heard some cavitation around 3400 rpms. And also when really hit the throddle, I heard some more more cavitation .I think they need to drop the motors one notch, they look a little high.As far as the motors, they sound so good good.At higher rpms they really wind up, and sound throaty. My boat wasn't fully loaded at the time, I hit the 6000 rpms, so I think I can deal with the slightly high rpms, but not the cavitation.Im sure the marina will take care of it.Well anyway Rivercat if I was hitting only 5000 rpms, I would sure want to hit at least 5500. They have great top end.TZ out..
