I have a 1989 15hp Evinrude. The owners manual says wot is 5500 to 7000 rpm. Other sources I've seen say 5500 to 6500rpm. Seloc says 6250rpm. Which one is correct? Yesterday on the lake I got 7200 rpm is this too much. It got that high because I have a high altitude (8000 feet) prop on it and I'm running at 900 Feet elevation. Thanks for your help.

Re: Wot rpm

I have an OMC service manual for that motor and the spec for that motor is 5500 to 7000 rpm. Don't go over the 7000 rpm. Don't ever believe Seloc or Clymer.
