hi:
i have a 1979 answer supreme 21 cuddycabin dry weight 2,100 pounds, and it used to have a evinrude 235 , i am in the proces of repowering and i woulds like to know if a 150 two stroke efi outboard would perform well on my boat , woulssd like to know if it would achieve a good aceleration and mileage. please i'll apreciate your help thanks

That is a big boat but I still think you should get between 33 and 35mph with a 150hp. Almost any newer efi/ficht/di engine will give you better econ than an older carburated engine.

How fast was it with the 235?

you are reducing you power by 35% and if the boat was rated for a 235 using the 70% theory, 165 would be minimum hp for any kind of decent performance. i really don't think you will be happy. hp is hp doesn't matter if it comes from a carb motor of injected, 2 stroke or 4 stroke. it's also going to have to be propped down inorder the handle the load, and not lug the engine.
