would a bad power pack ?

I have a question about a bad power pack effecting your max wot range ! I just tested my quick start on my 2000 175 Johnson and found that cyl 2, 4 , 6 , are not working on quick start . cyl 1, 3, 5, work proper . I tested to shop manual instuctions and cyl 2, 4, 6 failed test . my question is that if my quick start circuit is bad in the power pack and not the stator charging coils could that effect my engine in other rpm ranges? Thanks for the input .

QuikStart advances the timing until the engine reaches around 96 degrees F. or advances to around 1,100 RPM. It is not selective and does nothing selective in terms of firing to individual cylinders or banks of cylinders.

S.L.O.W. does deal with a bank of cylinders and can be triggered by overheating, no oil, or an interruption in the fuel supply.

You also have a shift interrupt switch that is activated by shifting, which can get misaligned and shut down three cylinders.

Also If your powerpack is like mine on a 1995 175 Opro, it is divided into two banks internally (odd and even # cyls) and it is possible for one side to fail while the other still operates. Mine would not idle or get up on plane when this happened.
