Would this Tach work for my OB?

I have a 83' 70hp Johnny and would like know if anyone has used this or know if it would work for my OB.

It says any gas fuelled outboard.

Compare it with the Tiny Tach.

It will work but the caviat is that the sensor cable may not be long enough.
