Thinking of selling the boat...
not giving a lot of details as my intention is not to advertise it for sale on the forum...

1982, bow rider, 5.0L Engine runs great.

top speed is about 30mph or so, I know it should go faster. It seems heavy when on the water.

There are a few soft spots in the floor, and the seats are a bit rotten. I needs some work.

The motor only has 120 hours, it is virutally brand new, and runs as such.

If reduced $1,000+ knowing it needs work, would you buy it? or am I pretty much forced to repair before selling?

want to sell because current situation doesn't allow me to afford the boat right now, nor pour cash into it just so I can sell it....

You have a project boat, Ndemge.

Someone who is looking for a project might buy it, but $1K seems high to me.

Put it in the iboats classified.

A good 5.0 stern drive and outdrive is worth $1000 all day long!!!!My opinion is that someone looking for a motor and drive will part it out.Charlie

Dude, I would buy it to replace my 4 banger then sell the outdrive and get most of my cash back.Too bad you didn't live closer.I would spend a 1000.00 and make $$$$My old motor+your outdrive+your old boat+your trailer??? Not to mention RE-POWERD. :D

I think he is saying $1000 discount off of price of comperable without the problems.

The soft floor is a gamble the upholstry is no biggie no hidden probs there, the motor job would be a positive. Depending on the value maybe...oh lets say up to 3-4k boat proabably(maybe)...over that proabably not. Keep in mind thats without seeing it or the extent of the injuries. toufgh call from here without seeing it but thats kinda the way I see it.

Actually the thing that would scare me the most is the "it feels heave" seems waterlogged. That could be the hangup.

For a "1982, bow rider, 5.0L Engine "
With,
"a few soft spots in the floor"
And,
"the seats are a bit rotten"
And,
"It seems heavy when on the water"(Water Soaked Foam ??)
Even With a "motor only has 120 hours",

I Wouldn't Give a Penny Over the First $1000.00.............Sorry..

As pointed out the value is in the motor,o/d,and trailer. The boat itself is worth as much as a 6 pack of Bud---not Corona or sam Adams.Charlie
