wow! that was wierd!!! ~ big twin

so i have a 1966 einrude 40 big twin and i really wanted to go fishing and it was midnight, so about 6 gallons of gas later and it was 8 in the morning, i pulled into the lagoon and took a 4 hour power nap before heading back out.
i pulled the good ol cord and nothing happened, after my arm felt like it was going to fall off and nothing looked wrong, i proceeded to takeout the spark plugs and cleaned them up. still to no avail i cheaked over everything agian and nothing looked wrong! the next day, same thing...bummer...so we pulled it out of the water after my lil vacation was over, with the beast on the trailer i said to myself " well hell might as well" gave it a good pull and vvvrrroooommm dudududd! she started right up on the first pull!!! everyone who knew about my situation was stumped and stupified... so i figured this was definately the place to ask this question..... WHY? i mean i cant think of any good reason this should have happened... this really dampered my whole trip, and i know now if it happens again... get the motor out of the water and start it that way... but can i prevent this from happening again? with what ive said can anyone be so kind as to give an educated guess?

Space aliens sucked all the spark out and it took that long for it to regenerate

The relatives of the fish that you caught put a voodoo spell on your motor. If you drag the bottom where you were, you will probably find a K&O toy outboard with a pin stuck through it!

ahhh hahaha evil spirits and space aliens! i thought i was going to get an intelligent answer...laughing m f a o... we should change the name of the forum to johnson's and evinrude's that aliens abducted! but i think jb is right, spirits , i did have a few jack and cokes b4 i went out... me and jack dont get along so well...
