I have a 2005 4.3 mercruiser a I had a new engine installed the business set the firing order up like a Ford engine with #1 being on the left facing the engine I know this is the second engine this company installed this way.
WHAT DAMAGE WOULD THIS CAUSE this engine it has about an hour to 2 hrs on it

you wont be able to turn it by hand unless the plugs are out, then it shoudl turn fairly easily.
did you correct the firing order and timing and did it run ok afterwards

We've gone from "what damage could this cause" to the motor is locked up?

Your unable to crank over the motor.
What happens when key is turned to start?
Is this a I/O or Inboard?

just a dumb question. however if there is an hour or two of run time..... it was running. why did you play with the timing order?
