XADO Gel additive - is it snakeoil?

My car mechanic is working on Ms Triton's Ford EB-II Falcon 4.0L six running on dual fuel, and he wants to add an additive called XADO gel which he claims really works. The stuff is expensive but if it works like the website claims why aren't we all using it? Look at www.xado.com and please let me know what you think. I am hugely skeptical - but I've been wrong before!

In my opinion, if we needed it, it would come from the factory as standard and would be required to maintain a warranty.

Hi Aldo, Thanks for you help. You add it to the oil, please have a look at the site... www.xado.com and click on USA for the best explanation of what this stuff is meant to do. My opinion is snake-oil!

Looks like it's centered in Ukraine. Not exactly a hotbed of technology.

Hmmmmm... A couple of grand for a rebuilt engine, or just add a tube of XADO. Sounds a little too good to be true I would like to see an independent test run on the stuff, but my vote goes to snake oil.

Why do most ads like that always have "has been used for years in Europe and is now being introduced to the United States." Better yet, why do they work better in Europe than in the States?

I am always the most sceptical, but this stuff does sound a bit different.<br /><br />Its not a lubricant, but a product that forms a ceramic-like coating.<br /><br />Like I said, I would like to see the patent.<br /><br />Ken

if it really builds up on moving parts, whats to stop it from over building and locking the engine up?

I wish it worked, think about the possibilities, say, using it in an older outdrive. But my money is on snake oil.

Oh yea! for sure it'll cure your arteritis, lumbago and lube your lower unit at the same time

I can't read any of the endorsement letters and the Volvo and API letters are worthless. They basically say that this product is uhhh . . . oil.<br /><br />Anyway, I think we need Lubedude.
