I watched a bit of a game last weekend and am watching Tampa Bay vs. Houston right now. I kinda' like it. Quick action with a 25 second play clock, no extra point attempts, 1 point if you score from the 2 yd line, 2 points from the 5 and 3 points from the 10. Kick off team can't advance until the receiver catches the ball, punt teams can't go past the line of scrimmage until the punter kicks the ball. Only need 1 foot in field of play for a reception. Overtime is a shootout like in the NHL, each team gets a shot from the 10 5 times until there is a win. All the rules are aimed to make the game faster and it is fast. I like the coaches and QB's miked up. You will hear the coach call in the play live. Also it's neat to have players and coaches interviewed while play goes on. How long will it be before the other team listens in on the coaches calls? The Patriots would figure it out real quick. Verbage of plays hasn't changed much in 40 years. I recognize the plays. Gruden's plays don't count. By the time the QB calls it in the huddle they would get a dealay of game penalty. 45 Zebra, qg zone bama, 76 X lima zero Y flare. 55's the mike, on r hammer quick go, hut. That's a right A gap hand off or play action option, I swear. He doesn't make it simple and it is simple.
Average salary for other than QB is $55,000.00 a season max. QB's however get around $450,000.00 a season. The idea is that football is QB driven.
I am surprised that 7 of the 8 teams are in NFL cities. I always thought if a new league is to survive they would go to Football starving places like Nebraska, Oklahoma and Alabama.
