I'm looking at a 186 Sea Hunt with a 115 Yamaha on the back. The dealer has told me that this motor (2008) does not count usage hours. Is this accurate? Sounds a bit strange to me. Thanks
That's odd... I have a 2007 Yahama 115 4 Stroke on a boat that I bought from an individual and I had the dealer check engine hours without any problems.
The dealer should be able to extract the hours from the ECU and while he's at it do a fault code check. Also, if the boat's running Yam gauges the hours should be available on the tach.
