I have 115 yamaha four stroke on a 22 foot bennington pontoon. it runs fine up to 5000rpms. when you push it higher it loses water at prop or revs up and no more speed

Re: yamaha 115 loses water a high rpms

Welcome to the forum.

Did this problem just start happening or has it been doing this since you and the boat met?

Is it a prop hub starting to go or just cavatation I wonder.

One of the biggest reason to remove the prop over winter storage or prolonged storage to to keep the rubber propeller hub from sitting in the bi products of combustion that might settle at the lowest point and decay the rubber.

5000 rpms?

How many RPMs you talking about?

5,000 is pretty Good for a four stroke.
