Yamaha 115 Tilt/Trim Sending Unit Sticking

The lever on my Tilt/Trim indicator sending unit is sticking. I have tried to spray it with some lubricant but, that didn't help. Would taking it off and cleaning the lubricant up and then using something like grphite be better?

you may try removing it and freeing it up as to there is no room to do that when its mounted, you may comsider relacing it also, when corosion gets in side it it swells up and fails to move properly<br /><br />keep us infoed

Well, I just may have to replace it then. I had removed it and put some corrosion x on it before I asked. It seemed to work good while I had it off the boat but, shortly after reinstalling, it stuck in the down position again.
