We have a 1 year old Pontoon with a 115hp Yamaha 4stroke engine. We were in mucky waters and had the engine running almost all day. Went to pull out had a few issues get out of the low waters and then the engine emergency alert sounded and the motor shut down. Can't restart the engine now. Power tilt doesn't work either. All the other power is working on the boat. Even tried jumping the battery, but with power going to the rest of the boat, can pretty much figure that's not the problem. Any suggestions on what may have happened and what we can do to fix?

on the front stbd side of the motor there is a plastic cover held on by 3 push tabs.
remove it and check all your fuses and check the battery cable connections.
next time you get an alarm check the yamaha digital guages and observe the visual indicate that accompanies any audible.
if you over heated or packed the cooling system with mud its possible to burn up the regultor/rectifier as its water cooled.
