Yamaha 140 V4

I am on the market for two midrange outboards. I have opted to go the used route since the new engines are way out of my price range as far as power goes. I have been looking at two Yamaha V4 rated at 140 HP each on a friends boat. I have not seen these engines on much boats down here and was wondering if they have a bad reputation or anything that I should be concerned about. They are both doing approximately 1000 hours on the meters.
Any info will be appreciated since the Internet only has limited info about this particular model.
