hi, everyone. like the title states i have a yamaha 150 etxg 1988. i recently changed the impeller and housing and changed the gear case lubricant. i also removed the carburetor cover because i was going to get it rebuilt but decided to take it out on memorial day and put the cover back on.

im not sure what i did but now the boat stalls on me when it is in neutral. it sounds like it is running low or something. could i have done something to the carburetor? i cannot find anything in my manual about it and i am stumped.

Well, you certainly won't get much help like that man! Chill out! You're still having the same problems you were, I THINK, just different symptoms now...

I'd have to bet that since your motor sat unused, you've got some bad fuel, dirty carbs, etc...

If I were you, I'd dump your fuel, dump the fuel lines and replace it. I'd do that along with rebuilding the carbs.

You may very well still have timing issues, but you've certainly got some fuel issues if the motor has not been used in some time.

Did the impeller change help the temp alarm issue? I'd go ahead and replace the thermostats now as well. They are cheap and since it's a salt water motor, I'd bet that they have a bit of salt deposits on them (water jacket may too)!

So, what's the story on the fuel you are trying to push through it?
