Hello folks,
I recently been given an 1989 Yamaha 15esf two stroke. The motor looks hardly used. It's been in storage for years but with OLD fuel in the lines and carburetor. I cleaned and gapped the plugs and cleaned the fuel filter. It started on the third pull. However... I have one problem and a couple of questions....
While running after a few moments, it begins to run run very rich, then fuel starts to come out of the top of the carb. If you unplug the fuel line, it idles fine until it runs out of fuel.
Does this sound like a float problem? I've ordered a carb repair kit. Need I look into somethng else too?
Next, I ve also ordered an impeller replacement kit as well. Is this a big job? I'm an aircraft mechanic, but have no outboard motor experience. Pointers with either of the above are much appreciated.
Thanks!
