Yamaha 1986 115 V4 Trim Tilt

The trim tilt unit on my 1986 Yamaha 115 V4 outboard (ETLJ) needs to be replaced. I can get a used tim tilt unit from a 1992 115 for a reasonable price. Does anyone know if this will fit my motor? The parts catalog on the Yamaha website shows that 1986 and 1992 tilt trim units have different part numbers & look a little different but I'm hoping the mounting is the same. <br /> <br />Thanx.

Not sure exactly which year the moors went from a three wire motor to a two, but it was 86 or 87. if it has the same nunber of wires it should work.
