Hi everyone,

I have a 1990 50Hp Yamaha outboard. In Australia it has the model number 50DETO but in the parts catalogues online it appears to be a 50ETMLD.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a genuine Yamaha service manual? Our dealer says it is no longer available.

If not what is a good after market manual? I have bought the Clymer manual and I find it inadequate in many areas

Re: Yamaha 1990 50Hp Manual

Yamaha marine use 2 different model codes on their motors.

1. In the Americas, each model number is different and it includes the model year code.

2. The rest of the world use a different system, the model number is the same for each motor (except for a few minor differences), the bulk of the information, including year., is found in the serial number. and other numbers on the id plate.

Your 1990 50 hp is exactly the same as a 1990 50 hp in the U.S. The only difference is the numbers on the id plate.

On your id plate there is a solitary letter in the bottom right hand corner, what is that letter?

PM me your e-mail address, I've got a Christmas present for you.
