Re: Yamaha 1998 200 SW II Does not sound good.
RB thanks,
I am concerned that the dealer replaced the plugs *, impeller *, oil* in lower leg cleaned carbs to do diagnostics by listening to the "sound" to the toon of $400. Of course I gave the OK.
Again 125 psi on all 5, 110 on #6.
They did not do the "screw driver" test.
December 05 replaced by another Yard doing bottom... which is in poor condition per my bottom cleaner lasting only 7 months...
*Plugs - wrong kind
*Impeller - cheap aftermarket
*Oil - cheap
* Yard was recommended by good friend who is anal about his boat. I would not take my boat back to them!!!
They broke the wash board barrel bolts out by tilting motor with out lowering board, put parts in cup holder and never said anything. Manager was given parts by me... Never heard from them again. Did not connect the Speedo tube nor paint the engine skeg.
Temp alarm.. dealer thinks that the wiring to the engine oil sensor is wrong and wants to replace the sensor and connection wiring. It has been cut and connected with crimp connectors (not H2O proof). Do not understand how that would give a Hi Temp depower?
Now starts right up and sounds good to me with cover on...
Guess I will bring it home and get a second hands on opinion from Master Mechanic listed on Yamaha page, If they will travel this far.
Thanks again, have a great weekend...
