yamaha 200 1990 outboard shift rod broken

shift rod has rusted into where it goes through into the lower unit. any help on what it takes to replace would be greatly appreciated.

Salt water? You will have to pull the powerhead, remove upper part of broken shaft, clean powerhead surface and mid section surface. Remove lower unit, remove lower part of broken shift shaft. Install new shaft,powerhead gasket, install powerhead( bolt it up and hook up the shift linkage) install lower unit. Pray to the boat gods no other bolts will sieze and break. <br />Good luck, <br />Dino
