Yamaha 2001 VMAX 150 troubles

Boat died wouldnt start. Now it starts but makes a horrible noise when put into drive???:

They're going to ask for a bit more info than that. If the horrible sound happens only when you put in gear then it might be the lower unit. What have you checked so far??

Motor runs wont engage into drive and makes noise

ohh thats nice lol. With what you have described im guessing it could be a bad lower unit, OR the shifting cable lost its proper setting and it's not making the lower unit engage properly. Maybe the sound comes from the lower unit trying to engage.
