yamaha 200hp hours meter question

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to boating. I bought a used hurricane with a yamaha 200 ob. I am not sure the hour gauge at the helm is working properly. My question is this: Does the outboard itself have a hour meter or away the hours can be confirmed?

depends on which of about 10 models of the 200 yamaha you have.
post a full model number and we can tell ya

Hi rodbolt,

It is either F200C or LF200C. If this is not enough I will get the full model number tomorrow.

Ill make it easy.
Z200,VZ200,F200,LF200 will all store engine hours retrivable with the lap top software.
the rest wont.

Thanks rodbolt, I want to make sure that I wasn't scammed. When I have it stored for the winter, i'll take it to a place that has that capability.
